1. Appointment reminders
If customers book with you, most online booking tools can send a reminder by email or text before each appointment. It saves you ringing round, and customers are less likely to forget.
2. Replying to new enquiries
When someone fills in the form on your website, an automatic reply can let them know their message arrived and when you will get back to them. For the questions you answer again and again, a set of ready made replies means you only need to check and send.
3. Chasing unpaid invoices
Many accounts and invoicing programs can send polite payment reminders on their own when an invoice is overdue. You set the wording once, and it should go out on time without you having to remember.
4. Asking for reviews
A short, friendly message after each job asking for an honest review is easy to set up and easy to forget to do by hand. Send it to every customer in the same way. Guidance from the Competition and Markets Authority says that only asking the customers you expect to be happy may break the law.
5. Copying details from one place to another
Typing the same customer details into a spreadsheet, a booking system and an email takes time and leads to mistakes. Enquiry forms and many common programs can pass details along for you.
